Pre-Registration

Yachts in the Traditional, Vintage and Schooner Classes shall either:

1. Have a full keel, be of moderate to heavy displacement, built of wood or steel and be of traditional rig appearance.
2. Be an older craft using modern materials, e.g. epoxy or fibreglass sheathing or be a newer craft built along an old design.
3. Yachts with a gaff or traditional schooner rig whose hulls are not wood may be eligible at the discretion of the ACYR selection committee.

Yachts with a fibreglass hull, a long keel, a keel hung rudder and a design descended from a pre 1970, wooden boat design are eligible for the Classic GRP Class.

Yachts that reflect the beauty of classic yachts and constructed using any material or underwater configuration are eligible for the Spirit of Tradition Class.

Yachts may be accepted for the in the Modern Classics Class if they are built to a pre-1988 design. Modern Classics may be built of any material or underwater configuration.

Traditionally rigged sailing vessels that reflect the spirit and character of historic seafaring ships are eligible for the Tall Ships Class. Eligible vessels typically include square-rigged ships, barques, brigantines, brigs, and large schooners. Replicas and vessels built in traditional style with other rig configurations may be acceptable.

To determine eligibility yachts that do not have information on file with the ACYR shall provide photographs of the hull out of the water showing the keel and rudder and of the yacht in the water showing the rig, plus any drawings or other pertinent information to admin@antiguaclassics.com.

Once accepted, yachts will be given login details and must register for the 2026 ACYR on Yacht Scoring at yachtscoring.com
